* ** OMISSION ** *

OMISSION

If you’re into Heavy Acoustic Rock, then omission just might be your new favorite band. With creative riffs, memorable lyrics, and their collaboration with hip hop rapper Prophet bring a new sound to the table, Omission is ready to hit the charts. After playing a phenomenal show at the House of Blues  4.24.08, I had the opportunity to sit down with a few members and learn a little about the band; Forrest Fulmer (lead singer-guitarist) ,Will Carpenter (guitarist), Eric(Bass) and Tony(Drums).

SE: How did you pick the name Omission? Any meaning behind it?

Will: An old drummer came up with it, but the name has kinda been an inside joke because omission means to leave something out, but our music doesn’t leave any styles out.

SEHow did the band get started and how long have you been together?

Forrest: Together for a year and eight months, we are all just friends and I used to work with Tony our drummer.

SEHow long have you been playing your instruments and why did you choose them?

Forrest: I’ve been playing guitar for 13 years, I choose it because my mom played guitar and I was always around it.

Will: I’ve been playing guitar for 16 years, I first chose the bass, but after I started listening to Nirvana I realized that Curt Cobain made simple shit sound good, so I figured I could too and I started playing guitar.

SEWhere do you see Omission in 5 years?

Forrest: At least top 40 in the charts, touring...possibly a Euro tour, or maybe doing some soundtracks for film.

"ROUGH BEGINNINGS LEAD TO SMOOTH SAILING....."

SEWould you say you guys have an “outline” for writing songs, or do random things in your day inspire you to write a song?

Will: Forrest brings the skeleton of the song and the rest of us fill in.

Forrest: I write the music first then the lyrics, I write about life experiences shit that’s happened, the unknown……

SEIf you guys could play with any artist/band alive or dead past or present, who would it be?

Forrest: Muse, Audioslave, U2, Tool

Will: Dream theater, Stevie Ray Von…the list goes on…

"MAKE HER MINE IS A KILLER COLAB"

SEHave all your shows gone smooth or can you think of one that was a disaster?

Will: Its more like personal disasters, there is always that show where you kick yourself afterwards but it’s never been bad enough where someone is kicking you.

SEPersonally, we thought the show was incredible!! Thank you So much for taking time out after your set to talk with us!

Forrest:   No problem, anything for Sneakeasies! SE

Ommission rules, hands down. If I wasn't in Central America I would at every show.
Keep kicking ass and taking names Forrest.
